What is Connections?
The Connections Directory lists children's book authors, illustrators, and author/illustrators available to speak to school groups in New England.

Why Was This List Made?
The Connections Directory was compiled by the New England Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (New England SCBWI) to facilitate the many requests we field from educators and librarians. The Connections Directory is meant to help those wishing to connect the children they serve with the creators of children's literature.

How Do I Bring An Author Or Illustrator To My Classroom?
Anyone looking for speakers should contact the individuals privately to request references and to discuss speaking arrangements and fees. Contact information is inlcuded with each speaker's listing.

Any Recommendations?
New England SCBWI can not endorse or recommend any one speaker over any others, nor can we guarantee satisfaction with the programs of any given speaker.

	SEARCH THE DATABASE The Connections Directory is online and searchable by state or presentation age for your convenience, or you may view the entire list of presenters.
	SPECIAL REQUESTS Need someone to talk to your class about the Holocaust, the American Revolution, or Pileated Woodpeckers? Aren't sure which list member might fufill your curriculum needs? Send a speaker's request to all the authors and illustrators in the Connections Directory.
	SUBSCRIBE TO CONNECTIONS The Connections Newsletter is an electronic newsletter sent out four times during the school year. It contains notices about updates to the list, helpful articles and featured presenters.
